I just received this email at work explaining why a fax sent on our end hadn't gone through.

"Last week an 87 ton red oak tree (it had 165 rings and dated back to the Civil War when the troops burned the trees along the Potomac to see the confederate enemies across the river in VA.) fell on our home, landed in my husbands and my offices and so we are temporarily without a fax machine and also homeless living out of a small efficiency apartment until we can find more permanent quarters.

I am very lucky to be alive today. It would be difficult NOT to believe in God after an experience like this one. Also, don't put too much confidence in your cell phone during an emergency!"

What are the odds, eh?
